VR Cargo operations during Transport Workers’ Union Port strike
Negotiations between Transport Workers’ Union AKT and the employer union Finnish Port Operators Association on the new collective labour agreement have been interrupted for the present. The strike by the employers whose employment is governed by the collective labour agreement in question starts on Thursday 4 March 2010 at 06.00. There is no information at this time on the continuation of the collective bargaining.
During the strike goods are not unloaded or handled at public ports. Therefore, the strike also brings to a halt most of the rail logistics to and from ports.
In other respects Finnish rail logistics function normally during the port strike.
