OAO RZD has asked us to inform our customers about the following agreements coming into force on 1 July 2010 as a result of the customs union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus concerning the protection of human, animal and plant health and related supervision on the customs union borders and territory.

Container crane inaugurated at Buslovskaja station

A container crane has begun operating at Buslovskaja station enabling the lifting of containers from wagons for a customs inspection of the container's goods. The containers carrying goods shall in the future be loaded onto the wagons with doors facing each other, in accordance with sections 4.5.1.4. and 4.5.1.5. of the regulations governing the loading and fastening of goods transported between Finland and Russia. Earlier exceptional procedures in exports to Russia and transit traffic are ceased immediately.

and new customs code

The new customs code of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan which is based on the countries' customs union comes into effect on 1 July 2010. According to information received by VR the changes do not have immediate effects on rail or road transports from 1 July 2010 but we continue to monitor the situation and communicate updates as required.

According to information received from RZD a requirement of an advance notification before the entry of the goods into the customs union territory will be introduced at a later date.

VR logistics services merged

VR has merged its logistics operations. VR Logistics offers a wide range of transport and logistics services to rail and road customers.

Electronic exit declarations
to Customs used from
2 August 2010

As we communicated earlier we don't start using Electronic exit declarations with Customs on 20 June 2010. Instead, the system will be operated from 2 August 2010. Therefore, we would like to received from you MRN-numbers of export consignments together with the Railway Bill information.
